Tandi's Naturals

Tandi's Naturals

Lancaster County, Pennsylvania

Tandi and her husband, John, have a passion for all things natural, so it’s only appropriate that they met at a farmer’s market in Philadelphia—John was working at an organic farm stand and Tandi was a customer. After her visit to the farm, they clicked and are now married. Tandi started making soap as a hobby, but because of an overwhelmingly positive response, she decided to start a small business. Tandi’s Naturals soon expanded into body care and, more recently, cleaning products with no harsh chemicals or artificial fragrances. Tandi makes and develops the products and tends to the herb garden while John sources all of their ingredients locally, forages for wild plants and provides moral support. He is also committed to the labor intensive process of rendering the tallow--made from local Lancaster County beef--that they use for the soaps.

For those who are seriously committed to buying local edibles, soap made with Lancaster County tallow should definitely be considered. Why? Because animal fats are the only suitable soap-making oils that ‘grow’ locally and tallow makes a wonderful bar of soap! People rave about their tallow soaps (which are blended with vegetable oils)—they last longer than all-veggie ones, have a fluffy & creamy lather and are very moisturizing. Their laundry soap is made entirely with Lancaster County tallow, with no non-local oils, at all!
