Shellie and Dave Mierwald really believe in giving credit where credit is due. Each and every bottle of their BBQ and hot sauces identifies the farm that supplied the produce and herbs used to create Shellie’s lively and profoundly flavorful concoctions. Shellie came from a culinary background, working for years in the restaurant business, but it wasn’t until the oldest of her three kids left for college that she finally decided to pursue her culinary arts degree. While managing a school catering project, which required constant (but welcomed) trips to the farmers market, she was inspired to start canning and making sauces at home. And in the fall of 2011, Sweet Heat Gourmet was born.
