34 years ago, Martin’s Handmade Pennsylvania Dutch Pretzels were introduced into New York City’s Greenmarkets.  Produced by a small, Mennonite family-owned pretzel bakery, Martin’s have won over millions of New Yorkers with their incredible crunch and deep, rich, unparalleled pretzel flavor, that can only be achieved in the artisan process that the Martin family has kept alive, earning praise from food critics everywhere, including, among many others, the New York Times, Food & Wine Magazine, Food TV’s Food Finds, the Discovery Channel’s How Do They Do It?, and the prestigious Saveur 100.   Deeply etched in the heart of New Yorkers, Martin’s appeared in Sex and the City, as well as You’ve Got Mail.  In a 2013 Markets of New York blog post, Karen Sieger writes, “Martin’s Pretzels have become an integral part of New York’s social fabric and a household staple.”  But in the end, it’s really all about the pretzel.  The difference between machine-made and Martin’s is unimaginable without tasting…a mere crumb tells the whole story.
