After making its rounds through her family and group of friends, Jan’s fig spread found its way into the hands of a friend in the food business, who insisted she expand her product. Previously in the film industry, Jan seized the opportunity to branch out in a completely new direction, and embraced the adventure. Now her famous fig spread has a diverse accompaniment of fresh-made spreads, curds, and marmalades, all of which taste like a bite out of the real thing. While she might have left the film industry, she’s still very much an entertainer—her medium has just shifted slightly...
